Mysterious Dead Body at Vacant House
In an abandoned house near xx railway crossing a half-skeletonized body presumably a month after death was found : it was a young man dressed in a suit like an office worker.

　私はこの新聞記事を掴むと、夢中で公園を飛び出した。
I grabbed the newspaper and rushed out of the park frantically.

そうしてどこをどうして来たものか、××踏切り附近の思い出深い廃家の前に来て、茫然と突っ立っていた。
And without knowing how, I came and stood absentmindedly in front of the abandoned house near xx railway crossing that brought back a lot of memories.

　私はやがて、片手に掴んだままの新聞紙に気が付くと、慌てて前後を見まわした。
Before long, when I realized the newspaper that I was grabbing in my hand, I looked around hastily.

そうして誰も通っていないのを見澄ますと、思い切って表の扉(と)を開いて中に這入(はい)った。
Making sure that nobody was walking by, I decided to open the front door and enter the house.

　空家の中は殆んど真暗であった。
It was nearly pitch black inside.

その中を探り探り娘の死体を吊るしておいた奥の八畳の間(ま)へ来て、マッチを擦って見ると……。
