I didn’t feel very motivated yesterday, so I skipped translation practice. I couldn’t concentrate just as other days lately. Part of the reason might be social media.

When I’ve finished my translation, I post it to my blog page. To spread it more broadly, I made my Twitter account and tweet the update on my blog. And now I tend to look at Twitter too much.

I think there are several aspects of Twitter nudging me to stick to it. First, its accessibility. New tweets come in and you can see them only by a swipe. And that procedure never ends until you finally close the application.

Second, I’m just distracted or bored and willing to be obstructed by something that potentially entertains me whatever it is. That might come from my life being boring or my quitting smoking.

I probably simply enjoy new experiences by using Twitter.

While checking it out, I found that there were many Japanese people who tweet about their English studies as well as tips for a better command of the language. I wonder how someone can improve and feel confident to the extent that they can teach someone else. I feel like I’ve remained a beginner all the while. Being humbled might be a good nature, but I guess, too much of it is just the lack of confidence that prevents the growth.
