英語日記 日本人の人と英会話練習
Yesterday, I posted a want ad on a bulletin board website to look for Japanese English learners who I can practice English with. A woman sent me a message last night and this morning we talked over Skype for a bit.
She works as an English teacher, living in Tokyo. In the past she lived in the UK for ten years, so evidently, she spoke English quite fluently. She said she always looks for the opportunities to speak English with whoever she can. That’s why she contacted me.
Come to think of it, I used to get really bad grades of English throughout schooldays. English teachers were kind of my archenemies. One of them even advised me to quit high school. Looking back on then, I don’t have any anger or hostility toward him. If anything, I find it natural that he did so. I was so dumb and lazy.
Thinking about my past makes me wonder how on earth I’ve come to hope to practice English with an English teacher. Life really takes unexpected turns sometimes.
