This will be to keep a record of my English practice progress. If I can get to know new interesting people through any interactions here, that’s also nice

Tokyo and some other cities in Japan have been experiencing the biggest uptick in COVID cases due to the Delta variant.

Along with this tendency, there is a certain increase of cases in my city too.

The daily number of reported cases is so small as 20 or so.

However, everyone knows that authorities and medical institutions are both reluctant to, or simply they can’t test for COVID and so this number must be a tip of iceberg.

I planned to go out with my family to eat ramen tomorrow morning and to eat yakiniku next weekend.

I’m not sure about how risky it is to dine out in the current situation.

Even though we go out for both tomorrow’s ramen and next weekend’s yakiniku, it’s wise to reduce any contacts with others and refrain from going out where there are crowds as much as possible.

As for tomorrow’s ramen, it’s something called “asa ramen” in Japanese which means “ramen specially made to be eaten in the morning” as breakfast.

It’s been customary to eat ramen for breakfast in a neighboring city, and there are several ramen shops offering asa ramen there and they’ve become popular.

Probably influenced by that, some ramen shops in my city also started doing it.

Going out to eat ramen tomorrow morning was just my impulsive idea.

It feels like fun to go out early in the morning for something like ramen after my sons and I will have studied English together— we changed the plan into studying after eating, though.

I really look forward to it.

Going out for yakiniku is part of a special plan in my family that we set two days for which we refrain from any digital devices such as PC, TV and phones (this could be called "digital detoxing") during my summer break.

Just to make it more special, we plan to go to the yakiniku restaurant on foot at the request of my elder son.

We’ll walk up to the place like several kilometers and return to home on foot as well.

I’m kinda hesitant about the idea of walking the way home after eating a lot, but it feels special to me just because it’s not something we usually do.
