empollonの英語とか学習帳

このブログは僕の英語学習の内容や進捗、特に翻訳練習を記録するために始めました。ついでに、面白い人たちとの新たな出会いがあったら、なお嬉しいです。This will be to keep a record of my English practice progress. If I can get to know new interesting people through any interactions here, that’s also nice

I’m trying not to think about work for tomorrow, but I don’t think I’m successful not doing so.

I would like to change jobs in the future. I’ve been thinking so for a long time already. This is the prime reason why I had started learning English on my own eight years ago. However, after actually changing jobs, about five years ago, I came back to the current company where I had started English. My job career literally came full circle at that point, giving me some lessons that it’s hard to change jobs even with some English proficiency if you are over 40 and are not specialized in some specific jobs.

I can’t still stop thinking about job changes or finding another type of income source which I haven’t figured out yet.

Recently, I’ve been watching YouTube videos of this American podcaster in order to imitate his way of speaking— I haven’t yet tried imitating, just seeing videos, though. He is an author and investor at the same time. He often talk about tips to be more productive and successful in life such as how you can build good morning routines, how to read faster, how to ask good questions, how stoicism, which he seems to believe a key of success, influences him, and so on. While watching those videos, I wonder how I can make my life better as well as how much he is making by only encouraging us to do what he has been doing. Also, I speculate that he should have had a sizable amount of money to be profitable as an angel investor. At some point in the near future, I’ll start tying to imitate his speech by doing most likely shadowing. I can’t help but wonder if I can become someone like him if I can mimic him very well to the extent that I can sound like a native speaker. I wonder.
